Cabinet Valentinois, Louis XVI era.

The Cabinet Valentinois of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco has just been opened to the public after a beautiful renovation.

Provenance: Galerie Kraemer
Palais Princier de Monaco

It houses many exceptional works, such as a silver service made by the Parisian goldsmith Odiot, or a beautiful portrait painted by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun.
And around the dining room table, mahogany chairs created by Georges Jacob, at the end of the reign of Louis XVI (around 1785-1790).

Their extremely innovative form is inspired by the furniture and metal objects discovered during the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum and in Etruria.
